kino_wagon : imaginary networks
Train tracks draw curved lines on the landscape. They delineate the earth with their directing arms and create the possibility of escape. Leaving, gliding along tracks, entering the heart of otherness: apprehending its stories, its physical phenomena, its human movements, its cultural evolution. Making contact and listening to the expressions of freedom which erupt from individuals and communities. With your head against the train window, just like a film screen, you could lose yourself in the flow of new rhythms of image and sound. As passengers of an adventure? Rather like adventurers of passage.
Organised along the route of Mechanisms for an Entente’s workshop, kino_wagon offers a itinerant film program in each key-city, in different places : cinemas, gardens, stations, etc. Composed by short and long films, it gathers Romanian, Hungarian, Slovakian and Polish productions. As an artistic proposal, kino_wagon is a platform for watching but also for discussing the films — their profound contents: crucial facts of countries’ history, philosophical patterns, sociological moves, etc. — and creating connections between workshop’s participants and the inhabitants of the cities. From this conversations about feelings and ideas, unique shapes of liaisons can emerge.
The first part of kino_wagon was organised in the frame of residency program, at Małopolski Ogród Sztuki (Cracow), from 10th of April to 12 of June 2013. The following program is conceived as its second part. Its itinerant and performative dimensions make it independant from the first one. It will take place from 2nd of July to 28th of August 2013 in the following cities : Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Budapest, Košice, Nowy Sącz et Warsaw. Welcome aboard !
